LOWER LA RIVER REVITALIZATION PLAN

Master's Thesis

To fulfill my Master’s degree capstone requirement, I was part of a team of students analyzing the community impacts of the Lower LA River Revitalization Project.

The goal was to inform my client’s planning efforts by exploring the context in which the revitalization is taking place and presenting implementation strategies to sponsor equitable development among river-adjacent cities between Vernon and Long Beach.

Solution

This project allowed me to showcase my ability to create engaging materials that tailored the project to meet the client’s preferences.

The plan included projects that included a public wayfinding program, improved seating and gathering spaces, and an upgraded pedestrian/bike trail.

I surveyed community members to gauge preferences for these improvements and used survey results to identify new areas for improvement.
